My normal mode of installing updates has always been to have windows notify me and then to go in and manually do this. This has never been a problem previously. I regularly keep windows defender and other updates managed this way on a daily basis. Oct 19,  · I will say this too, when you start the install process of windows , it offers to download/check for updates, well, even Win-update in windows 8 said nothing to update, still Windows setup will still find some updates to download.
